TOP PARKS - RIVERVIEW TOURIST VILLAGE - KATHERINE, NT
A fantastic caravan park right beside a natural Hot Springs in the middle of the Northern Territory, who wouldn't want to stay here!!!!
We had 3 nights here and it was a great place to explore and enjoy Katherine and it's surrounding tours and attractions. There is heaps of great things to check out, Gorge tours, Hot springs, waterfalls and shows. A fantastic outback town that has plenty to offer if you stay for a few days and check it all out.
The Katherine Hot Springs are only a short stroll out the back gate and they are a great place to soak for a few hours every morning. Be sure to check out the Top pool as its a lot deeper and clearer than the lazy river down the bottom.
The park itself is well laid out with a range of accommodation to cater for your needs. From unpowered camping, powered caravan sites, cabins and a motel they are all fantastic. Plenty of trees around provide everyone with some shade to escape the heat of the Territory's rays. The Resort style pool is a great area to cool off and relax after a big day exploring.
A unique feature of the Riverview Tourist Village is the murals painted around the park. There are some fantastic landscapes and great portraits of the local wildlife so be sure to look out for them while your here.
Just next door is , "The Barra Cafe". A great place to head out and grab dinner one night while your here. A fantastic chef in the kitchen whips up beautiful meals and the place has a great atmosphere with the whole place painted in scenic murals of the local landscapes.
Only 10 minutes out of Katherine town centre, you will find the, "KATHERINE OUTBACK EXPERIENCE". This is an amazing show that gives you great insight into how horses are trained and broken in for outback cattle stations. You will see horses and working dogs, ducks, goats, pigs and cows and of course, Tom Curtain playing country music on Horseback. Its a great mix of entertainment, information and fun. Definitely check it out when your passing through!
A great place to stay and enjoy Katherine. Put Riverview on your list of places to stay when in the NT.
Cheers - Justin & Bec
This Exmouth and Cape Range National Park off the Ningaloo Reef has to be one of our favourites parts of Australia. Where in Australia can you swim only metres off the beach through the clearest turquoise water and be snorkelling over the World Heritage Ningaloo Reef.
2018 was the start of our schooling journey. With so many options our there, including Homeschooling, Distance Ed, School of the Air and Unschooling, it was quite confronting. After loads of negativity surrounding DE, we initially decided to go down the Homeschooling path.
When you hit the road, what happens with your mail? How do you receive it? Where do all your bills and written correspondence go?
It’s definitely something that needs to be sorted out prior to leaving on your trip around Australia.
This stretch of Limestone Coast in South Australia is often surpassed and now we can tell you that it definitely shouldn’t be! Our first stop in the cute town of Mount Gambier sure did surprise us. There really is so much to see and do and it’s a travellers paradise due to the array of scenery and outdoor activities. It is a popular destination and offers a mid-way point between Melbourne, Vic and Adelaide, SA, to stop and rest on the journey.
From a bustling region rich in history, heritage and farming to the stunning Alpine landscapes of the Snowy Valleys. This road trip is one of endless scenic surprises and tasty food and wine trails. We hope you enjoy the adventure ahead!
A drive we have always talked about doing, so when NSW Tourism got in touch to see if we’d be interested in promoting this region, we jumped at it! The Murray River is Australia’s longest river at 2,508km! An iconic Australian region with diverse landscapes, it really is a great way to relax.
